Chrono Trigger is on Virtual Console

So Chrono Trigger is on Virtual Console. And that is freaking awesome! From Dtoid:

This week's digital releases for Nintendo platforms are headlined by the classic Super Nintendo RPG Chrono Trigger (800 points). Its inclusion on Virtual Console was actually notable enough to warrant individual blog posts prior to today, something you rarely see any more.

And then there's the rest. Sorry, everyone who isn't Square Enix. DSiWare gets some fishing action with Big Bass Arcade (500 points), more word-search puzzles with Word Searcher 3 (500 points), and a coloring book of all things with Hellokids – Vol. 1: Coloring and Painting (200 points).

The terrible twosome on WiiWare this week is Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove: Monster Mix (500 points), a dancing game, and the demo for Lead the Meerkats. I had no idea that meerkat sims were a thing now.

Weekend, what are you playing?

We are half way though May, new game releases are afoot but I'm sure most of you have a game or two to beat. So what are you playing?

Migoy: My Duodecim save got corrupted. My cousins were playing multiplayer and one of em had my PSP, the battery died right after a fight (where the game auto saves) so fuck it, gonna fully import my old Dissidia game keeping my old characters at maxed out at level 100. Aside from Dissidia Duodecim despair I feel a strong urge to play Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP) from square one. Also I've got an eye on another SquareEnix Game, Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection. Lotsa RPGs on my list. Gonna be a long day.

Quash: This weekend is still Mass Effect 2 for me. Working on my save file in my PS3 so that I can use that save for Mass Effect 3. In the main story I'm suppose to get the IFF but I'm focusing on all possible loyalty missions at this point and side quests before continuing. My goal is no one dead on the Suicide Mission, Max Paragon and mostly all important side quests done.  Oh! i also played some Diablo 2 co-op with a friend last friday. Currently on Act 2 with a level 18 Sorceress. This has to be my 4th Sorceress in that game, favorite class? yep. I've already decided to be a Wizard for Diablo 3.

Arlie: I've been exploring the Province of Cyrodiil this weekend. Yes, I'm playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for PC using my Female Nord Knight named "Arya Stark" (from Game of Thrones). I already finished the faction quests for the Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild, Knights of the Nine and I am already halfway on the Dark Brotherhood quests (I already have my loyal steed, Shadowmere). As some of you might know, I've been streaming my TES IV: Oblivion gaming session live on our JTV channel. You can watch my previous game sessions archived there so please feel free to visit anytime, you might catch me or anyone of us play live and chat with us while we do fucked up shit like the video shown below.

I also played Brink, but I haven't tried multiplayer yet and the AI is just plain suck (could literally go around an AI enemy, clueless mofos). I already finished the Resistance campaign and already started with Security campaign. Overall, I like the game (it reminded me of Team Fortress 2) with better gameplay (PARKOUR BABYYYY!) and I might enjoy playing it online. You can also watch my Brink gaming sessions on our JTV channel.

Weekend, what are you playing?

Here we are the at first weekend of May. PSN is still down but that can't keep a good gamer down. So what are you playing this weekend?

Migoy: Dissidia Duodecim is still hogging my PSP but I have been able to touch some other games. Started Cave Story again and I forgot how good that game was so I'll definitely be playing some more of that. I bought a Gun accessory for the Wii and it works suprisingly well, better than I expected at least so that made me revisit some of my older Wii shooting games such as Resident Evil: The Dark Side Chronicles. I also just got Thor: God of Thunder on the Wii and with that, by Odin's might I say thee NAY!

Quash: Saturday i joined a Super Street Fighter 2v2 tournament and had a blast. Won my first 2 matches, hit the winner's bracket and went downhill from there. After my team got eliminated I stayed to watch the Grand Finals and watching the best the Philippines has to offer was a treat. I played Chun Li and my partner played Honda, I didn't know my partner before the tournament since we teamed up in their forums but we both did well.

The tournament was a success so congratulations to pinoy2dfighters for a job well done, will make a post about it soon with pictures from the event. Since that tournament is over, i think ill continue my 4th Mass Effect 2 play through and get it over with.

Just Out-of-breath 2

If you cauht my post of David from 4pp dancing to 'Who let the dogs out' by the Bahamen then you know I'm in a 'JUst Dance'-cy mood. Its summer here where we are from and the heat is just insane. I thought since I'm already sweating, might as well make it a little productive.

I boot up Just Dance 2, Ubisoft's sequel to the 2009 hit Just Dance. First song I picked was the infamous Rasputin. With me being out of shape, more so than usual, that was obviously not the best choice. After that one song, I was completely out of breath. Understandable cause anyone would be after dancing to that insane song but I could go on for a few more the last time I played (some time back in 2010). 4 songs was my limit, I wanted to go on just a bit more but I felt like I could pass out at anytime and I still had to go to work which was just 3 hours later.

Bottom line, I need to exercise more and Just Dance is a great way to get a good cardio work out. I can never get used to people watching act like a fool in front of the tv dancing to Katy Perry's "Hot n Cold" but lucky for me, no one is going to be home for the weekend so now is the perfect time to get my dance on without being judged.

Hey, if I'm feeling ballsy maybe I'll run Xsplit and broadcast it. Excuse my fatness if that ever happens.

In the great words of Dr. Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell from Land of the Lost)

"I'm not out of shape! I'm just scared!"

If you think I'm just being a big baby about almost fainting after dancing to Rasputin, check it out for yourself. This song is insane...ly fun.

Nintendo Wii price cut, now at $149.99

It's official: Nintendo is dropping the price on the Nintendo Wii to $149.99, as insinuated by price drop rumors floating around Nintendo's console the last few weeks. The price drop will be in effect as of May 15th, and will include a Nintendo Wii in black or white along with Mario Kart Wii and a matching colored wheel, replacing the Wii Sports/Wii Sports Resort pack-ins. For those dying to pick up a black wheel, it can be purchased separately for $9.99.

Beyond the Wii cost reduction, Nintendo also formally announced its "Nintendo Selects" program, which will offer popular Wii titles at the $19.99 price point. The four titles initially part of the Nintendo Selects family include The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers and, for the first time ever as a separate software purchase, Wii Sports. There was no mention of Super Smash Bros Brawl made officially by Nintendo.

It sounds like a great deal for someone that's been waiting all these years to pick up a Wii, with deals galore for classic titles that the legions of Wii owners have enjoyed for years. But with Nintendo's new console 'Project Cafe' coming next year, the timing seems a bit off to really drive any serious momentum for the flagging console.
