PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Public Beta Impressions

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Logo So I got the public beta of PS All-Stars and jumped into a few online matches. Me being a huge fan of the Super Smash Bros. series, I wasn't very positive about this game after seeing gameplay footage of it but after actually playing it, I have to say it definitely feels a lot better than I initially thought.

I won't go over all the controls and gameplay mechanics, instead I will talk about my online experience. The game seems to run smoothly online but I'm guessing it deal with lag by rollback. Meaning that you have characters teleporting around. The good side about this rollback is that there doesn't seem to be any input lag. No input lag is fine an all but it is annoying when you think you're hitting someone on one side of the screen then suddenly both of you teleport to the other end of the stage and having you eat a level 1 super immediately after.

This is a public beta and hopefully they come up with a better online structure. As of this post I believe the public beta is available for the next 5 days so if you're curious about this game then here's your chance to try it out.

Dishonored DLC packs announced

Dishonored DLC Finished with Dishonored? Well hold on to your copy as long as you can because three DLC packs are planned for Bethesda's First-person assassin game, and the first one is planned for a December release. Details below.

The first one to be released is called ""Dunwall City Trials.". It will be released sometime in December and will cost you $4.99/400 MS Points. The DLC will include 10 challenge maps that will test your assassin skills. Challenges will include an arena battle against waves of enemy AI, a gravity-defying run of drop assassinations, and a race against the clock. Dunwall City Trials will have their own set of new achievements and leaderboard for bragging rights.

Dunwall City Trails will be released simultaneously on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The second and third DLC will be story-driven content, but is planned for a early 2013 release. The leader of a group of supernatural assassins known as ‘The Whalers’, will be the focus of the second add-on pack. For the third DLC, no details yet.

New Far Cry 3 trailer introduces us to yet another insane bad buy

Far Cry 3 Another Far Cry 3 trailer, another crazy that needs to be formally introduced. Meet Hoyt Volker, he runs both slave and drug trafficking operations while maintaining a portion of the island with a mercenary army. Just when you thought Vaas was bad enough, you have another insane mastermind calling the shots.

With Hoyt Volker now introduced, it's hard to tell which character is the big anti protagonist, Vaas or Hoyt?

Need to get introduced to other characters in Far Cry 3? Check out the trailers for Vaas, Buck, Citra, and Dennis. Oh and Dr. Earnhardt. Yes, that's quite a lot of character trailers.

Far Cry 3 will be available on December 4 in the US, November 30 for the UK, and November 29 for Europe.

Dark Souls Artorias of the Abyss DLC now out on PSN and Xbox Live

Dark Souls DLC Plan on jumping back to Dark Souls again? Well, From Software just released the Artorias of the Abyss DLC for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The DLC is the new content included in the Prepare to Die Edition for the PC. It includes new areas, bosses, armors, spells, and matchmaking for PVP.

I never thought I'd get excited for a DLC. I think the last time was Red Dead Redemption's 'Undead Nightmare' DLC that provided a whole new single player campaign. It will definitely be hard to get used to Dark Souls again, since the game isn't easy to begin with, but I've always wanted to jump back in and grab the platinum trophy. Now that Artorias of the Abyss is out, there's a bigger incentive for me to grab my copy off the shelf.

It will cost you $14.99/1200 MS points. Now this is real DLC, no armor pack dlc stuff that is just a waste.

Check out the link for a complete list of the added content.

Never played the game? Check out my review of Dark Souls, you will either appreciate the challenge it brings, or get frustrated from the constant deaths.
