EA includes co-op to Dead Space because it's considered too scary?

Dead Space 3 I'm sure you guys have heard about Dead Space 3 having co-op. Based on EA's research for the first two Dead Space games, a lot of people thought it was too scary and wished they could play the game with a friend. Thus, co-op was planned for the third game. Apparently too scary is a negative for a" survival horror" game which is hilarious.

EA' marketing head Laura Miele spoke to MCV about this change in the Dead Space franchise.

“We were doing research coming out of Dead Space 1 and 2 and we’re really proud of those products. We received feedback to understand how we can take the game out to even more consumers,” she stated.

“We were hearing feedback that they love the thriller game, but it was pretty scary, and the obvious next step was that they wanted to play with someone. So we introduced co-op into the game.

EA states that the same levels of horror in the first two games will be found on the third but now with a friend.

As much as they say it will be the same, you won't feel the same horror given when playing alone. The idea that you are all alone to survive and face these unknown creatures hidden in the dark is what brings out the scares and fears in these types of games. Dead Space 1 and 2 captured it perfectly with the atmosphere that somewhat resembled the first Alien movie some way. And let's not forget about the necromorphs.

I hate the fact that they implemented co-op. Dead Space was considered a sleeper hit among gamers but never a huge money earner. Adding co-op does bring more potential buyers, but I fear for the survival horror genre. I considered Dead Space the title keeping the genre alive. So hopefully more horror games get developed to fill in the gaps.

SDCC 2012: Resident Evil 6 Leon gameplay

New Resident Evil 6 gameplay showed up today. Coming from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the video shows Leon and his new partner Helena going against the traditional zombies. Leon's campaign is more up my alley since it brings back the atmosphere of past Resident Evil games.

I'm slowly getting pulled in by the hype of Resident Evil 6. While I was completely turned off by how it felt too fast-paced and more on the action side, the fact that they have Leon's campaign bringing back the survival horror feel, it looks like Capcom is trying to cover all avenues with Resident Evil 6. A lot love the new direction with Resident Evil 4 and 5 being more of an action adventure, but there are fans that also wish Resident Evil would go back to their roots. With Resident Evil 6 having three campaigns, each having their own feel and protagonist is a good touch.

The Resident Evil 6 demo is out for Xbox 360 who owns a copy of Dragon's Dogma. The demo has one mission for each campaign in the game.

Resident Evil 6 is out on October 2 on Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. The Game will be out for PC but a date for it's release has not been given.

Next Battlefield 3 DLC is the reason why I love this franchise

Armored Kill DLC FACK! Just when I started hating EA and DICE for what they just recently announced, they throw this amazing DLC trailer that pretty much cater to why I love Battlefield in the first place -Vehicle Warfare. Four new maps, new vehicles, mobile artillery, and what they consider "Biggest map in Battlefield history"? Crap I'm sold, but still not touching Battlefield 3 Premium.

Yes, this video definitely got me back to my good side. Armored Kill is perfect. But they showed that announcement again at the end which made me hate them all over again. Can't we just get more DLC instead of a sequel?  No? Crap.

Armored Kill is the third out of five planned DLC for Battlefield 3 and is planned for a September release on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Battlefield 3 Premium players will have early access and of course all five DLC for free when released.

New Medal of Honor: Warfighter trailer confirms Battlefield 4

Medal of Honor: Warfighter This is quite a shocker. EA released a new Medal of Honor Multiplayer video that reveals Battlefield 4 is real. Pre-order Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition and you get exclusive access to the Battlefield 4 beta. Instead of getting a grand reveal for Battlefield 3's sequel, they use Battlefield 4 to boost the Medal of Honor franchise.

Maybe it's just me, but this feels wrong in all levels. Battlefield 3 is still being played everyday and I don't think BF3 fans are ready for a sequel just yet. Why? Because Battlefield 3 could last a year or two. Oh then again I forgot, EA is trying to release these games yearly.

Joystiq reports that the Battlefield 4 beta will hit sometime in Fall 2013. If that's the case, we could be seeing battlefield 4 releasing at the end of 2013 or early 2014.

It's too damn early. The fact that Battlefield 3 premium was just released, and the fact that the game is not even close to dead, I'm surprised EA went for a sequel. No Battlefield: Bad Company 3 or even another Battlefield spin-off. Straight up sequel. It sounds like a waste. Current consoles are seeing its last years, and it would have made sense to reserve Battlefield 4 for next-gen consoles.

They really want Medal of Honor to be a good competition against "that other game", but since you stamped beta access to a game literally more than a year away overshadows the franchise completely. Majority could be grabbing the game just for that access and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Latest The Last of Us clip introduces us to another survivor

The Last of Us clip During Comin-Con San Diego 2012, Naughty Dog revealed a new clip showing another character in The Last of Us. His name is Bill and he apparently owes Joel a favor.

Every clip they release makes the wait harder for me. It looks amazing and I'm really curious how responsive Ellie's AI is going to be. We know Naughty Dog can produce high quality games thanks to Uncharted, but the real challenge is if they can pull off creating smart AI. If Ellie and enemies in the game provide real-like unpredictable situations, no standing around being useless AI, that would be perfect.

The Last of Us is an exclusive title to the Playstation 3 and was originally planned for Q4 release this year, but is now pushed back to early 2013.
