InFamous 2 User-Generated Content Beta

Sucker Punch has unleashed the beta test details for its user-generated content component in inFamous 2.  You have from now until March 21 to sign up for the beta here. Of course they won’t be accepting everyone so do yourself a favor and jump on this ASAP. The people chosen will be notified in ”early April” by the development studio.

You’ll also have to register for the site and all that hoopla which is understandable I suppose, and I’m sure you can’t wait to read the sweaty love letters you get sent.

As an additional bonus Sucker Punch will be choosing the best user-generated content and providing them with the game as ”Sucker Punch Selections” when the game is released. So not only can you get into the beta, you have the chance of having your handywork spread far and wide. I wouldn’t expect a revenue check though…always read the fine print.

No Mortal Kombat for Australia

A lot of die-hard fans have been patiently waiting for the release of the latest Mortal Kombat. Sadly, Australian fans won't be able to get their hands on it.

A Refused Classification decision has been made by the Australian Classification Board which bans the selling of Mortal Kombat in Australia. Their main concern about the game is the fatalities.

"The game includes over 60 fatalities, which contain explicit depictions of dismemberment, decapitation, disembowelment, and other brutal forms of slaughter," the official Board report stated. "Despite the exaggerated conceptual nature of the fatalities and their context within a fighting game set in a fantasy realm, impact is heightened by the use of graphics, which are realistically rendered and very detailed. In the opinion of the Board, the game contains violence that exceeds strong in impact and is unsuitable for a minor to see or play. The game should therefore be Refused Classification pursuant to item 1(d) of the computer games table of the National Classification Board."

This isn't the first time Australian gamers rage because one of their most anticipated game gets slammed by the ban-hammer. Left 4 Dead 2 had the exact problem also receiving a Refused Classification from the Australian Classification Board. Their reason for the decision was because of "the high impact violence against living humans infected with a rabies-like virus" which is said to be unsuitable for minors under the age of 18.

Australia's highest rating is MA15+, which means if the game is not suitable for a 15-year-old then it's instantly not suitable for 18 and above. If only  Australia has an R18+ classification then problems like this won't occur for future game releases.

Mortal Kombat is set to be released outside Australia on April 19,2011 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

New Crysis 2 trailer to get you hyped

Crysis 2 is almost out the door and Crytek released a trailer called "Be Fast". So many FPS games coming out but a few more won't hurt.

The sequel will be set in New York City in the year 2023 and the aliens are back wrecking havoc. Just like the first game, you will have abilities from the Nanosuit 2. The suit will make you stronger faster and become invisible, making you the one man army against the Alien invasion. And this trailer gives you an idea on what being fast means in Crysis 2.

Free Realms heading to PSN

Sony Entertainment Online's free-to-play MMO called Free Realms was first released in 2009 and is finally heading to the Playstation 3...well to PSN to be exact. from the looks of it, This casual Free MMO is nothing like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars as It tries to attract a younger crowd.

When Free Realms was first announced, they were planning a PC and PS3 release but delayed the PS3 version for almost 2 years now. All of a sudden they decide it's time to release it. Hey a free game for your console is never a bad thing. This casual game has exploration, fighting monsters, mini games like cart racing, soccer matches, ship battles, flash-based mini-games and more. Sounds fun but maybe because it's free.

Free Realms isn't that far away, you can start downloading the MMO on March 29, 2011 on PSN.

See the full post in the Playstation blog for the official announcement from lead designer Stephen Bokkes.

Video games and their glitches......

And Marvel vs Capcom 3 sure does have a few. But this one in particular can pretty much ruin anybody's game.

Zero from the megaman series is the source of this glitch. He has a hyper combo that makes a clone of himself and copies any move the original Zero would do. So technically whatever you do with Zero will happen twice having like a small delay between the attacks. Theres also a thing called a snapback where you use one level bar to snap a character out of the screen switching to the next character. Little tactics to bring out those beaten characters that another player is trying to recover.

the Zero Glitch happens when you do a snapback with Zero's Super that i mentioned. If the original Zero's snapback misses and the clone's snapback hits, No character will return leaving the other player to lose from time out. Bummer, i know. Why does it need to be addressed? well because it could happen intentionally or accidentally during a fight. Watch and see the glitch in action.
