Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Trailer

Guilty Gear is back with it's new installment by Arc System Works and apparently Ky has a ponytail now. It's Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-.

The game is using the Unreal Engine for it's character sprites. Rendered in 3D polygon models but still animate like 2D sprites so it still pretty much looks like Guilty Gear. As of right now, the game is currently in development as an arcade title. Here's to hoping that we get a home console announcement (and an Enligsh release) soon much like Persona 4 Arena.

I didn't really get to play Guilty Gear back in it's hay day but this looks like a good reason to get into the series. Maybe I should look back at some of the older entries whilst I wait for this one. Or maybe I should finally learn how to play Blaz Blue.

Friendly reminder - The next Xbox will be revealed in three days

Just in case you missed it, Microsoft will be revealing the next Xbox on May 21 10AM PDT. A reveal of a new console is always exciting. PS4 was announced last February, and Nintendo has gone first with the next-gen race with the Wii U that's already available, now Microsoft is up next to show what they got and I'm really hoping it's not some Kinect integrated gimick.

The event is scheduled to start at 10AM PDT in Redmond. Washington, and it should be around an hour-long. For us folks in the Philippines, 10AM PDT is actually 1AM on a Wednesday, May 22. So if you want to see the big reveal live, have a few more cups of coffee. If you're not in the Philippines, you can just check here to confirm when the event starts for you.

Now anything is up in the air to what the new Xbox will have. One thing is for sure is that it will be just as strong as the PlayStation 4. Will it actually be stronger? Well, I'll let the console fanboys duke it out when its official specs are shown. My worry though is that Microsoft might just integrate Kinect's features to their new console. How will that be, I'm just guessing, but I better not be forced to get a Kinect to fully utilize the console.

I'll be watching the event live on the net and will most likely be tweeting what I see like a madman through our twitter. I'll be updating this post once there are more sites or channels planning to live stream the event.

A bit of new The Last of Us gameplay

We are halfway through May and when this month is up there's only one game that comes into mind in June. The Last of Us is Naughty Dog's(Uncharted series) new IP that focuses on survival. A harsh post-apocalyptic world were a man and a kid will do whatever they can to stay alive. VG247 released new gameplay footage showing the game's combat and new locales not seen yet. Have a look.

I'm definitely picking this up when the game hits next month. I'm now a fan of Naughty Dog's work thanks to what they did in the  Uncharted series. Uncharted was one of the best franchises born out of the PlayStation 3 and I'm quite curious if they can provide the same success with this new IP with the PS4 now on the horizon.

From the gameplay shown above, its definitely nothing like Uncharted, but you do see some similarities with how their cutscenes were organized. The gameplay seems to require you to think quick without using too much resources to move forward. There's also the infected, which brings a whole new twist in the gameplay but sadly nothing was shown during this footage.

One more feature to note is that Naughty Dog is trying to provide Ellie(The kid) with an advance AI to not make the player feel as if she's a burden. That's the biggest challenge Naughty Dog says so I'm curious to see if they did pull it off for this game.

The Last of Us will be out on June 14, 2013 exclusively for the PS3.

Scribblenauts Unmasked

Max teams up with the DC Universe's most famous heroes to save the world in Scribblenauts Unmasked.

Totally was not expecting this. And with me currently having an Injustice fever and having just finished watching Young Justice, my DC nerdgasm is at an all time high. Scribblenauts Unmasked is coming to the Wii U, 3DS and apparently the PC.

Metro: Last Light launch trailer

Metro: Last Light is finally out!...well for North America that is. A launch trailer was released for the sequel of 4A Games's Metro 2033. The launch trailer pretty much covers everything about Last light. The creepy underground metro system. The dead wasteland on the surface, and mutant-like monsters that always has an interest with you. Let's have a look at Moscow's post-apocalyptic wasteland shall we?

I actually want to play this game since I enjoyed Metro 2033 thanks to the game's atmosphere and setting. It's out in the US right now, but no word when Metro: Last Light retail copies are coming to the Philippines. Steam will have Last Light unlocked on May 17 in South East Asia. so it looks like we have to wait just a little bit longer until we get to control Atryom and walk around the underground metro.
