The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt revealed, going open world

witcher3GI The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just made its debut on the latest issue of Game Informer. I personally love the Witcher series and this is great news to know that CD Projekt RED is hard at work on the third game while also developing Cyberpunk 2077. Color me excited.

For the sequel, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is going open world. The game will also debut Projekt CD RED's new REDengine 3 technology game engine which makes open world a possibility in The Witcher world.

People at NeoGAF are already hard at work in getting every piece of information about this game.  Acording to the reports, the open world will be 20% bigger than Skyrim. The deep storytelling and player decisions and monster slaying will return and Geralt is now fighting for himself with his now restored memory.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming in 2014 for PC and "all high-end platforms available". You know what that means, this could potentially be a next-gen console title.

Together with GameInformer's reveal, they posted a YouTube video of them tackling the game developer's direction for the third game.

Skyrim DLC's for PS3 now dated

Dragonborn-ss01 We posted a few weeks ago that Bethesda has announced that Skyrim's DLC is finally heading to the PS3. During that post, no date was given but they now dated each DLC, that's all coming out this February.

First DLC hitting the Playstation Store is Dragonborn coming on Feb 12. Next will be Hearthfire, giving players the chance to buy their own land in Skyrim to build their dream house, it comes out on Feb 19. Last will be Dawnguard and it will be available on Feb 26.

All DLC will be 50% off on its first week of release, so if you've been waiting for new content, you get a good deal if you get it early.

For PC players, Dragonborn will be available for purchase and download on Feb 5.

A bit too late since I'm sure many players have moved on, the game is already a year old after all. But there might be a few out there that was patient enough to wait for Bethesda to figure out their porting issues to the PS3.

Free Ni No Kuni DLC coming this Feb 12

Ni No Kuni-ss Ni No Kuni just got released last week for the Playstation 3 and I'm sure most of you are playing right now. Well, if your loving the game so far, you might want to check out the Playstation Store on February 12 for some free DLC.

Publisher Namco Bandai just announced that you can download the Draggle Familiar free of charge on the Playstation Store when it gets available. With an industry now filled with paid DLC's at every corner, it's good to see every now and then free content, even though it's as simple as a new familiar for your game.

A new trailer was also released to get a glimpse of Oliver's adventure to another world. From what I'm hearing, this is turning out to be one of the best JRPG's to hit this generation. And that soundtrack...

'See the Future' of Playstation on Feb 20? (PS4?)

See-The-Future-Trailer A video teaser by Sony was released today in YouTube revealing that a big announcement is coming  on February 20. Is this what I think it is? Will Sony be the second among the big three to reveal their next console?

With the Wii U now out for Nintendo, talks about who will be next to reveal a new console was soon to follow. During the second half of 2012, there were tons of talks and discussions about Sony and Microsoft's next-gen console, they are all considered "rumors" of course since there is no official word, but there's no doubt in my mind that we will see at least one console reveal this year, but this early in the year? Heck, why not.

The last time Sony did a meeting like this, they revealed the PS Vita for the first time, so it's only fitting to assume that this could be the PS4 reveal, if it's not, it's still going to be big. Also, the fact that production of the Playstation 2 has finally been ceased shows that Sony now has space for another generation to come in.

teaser page was created to let people sign up to get any updates first, but not other information was placed, only the hashtag #playstation2013 for everybody to start the discussion over at Twitter.

I thought they'd reveal something during this year's E3 but revealing a new product outside big events makes a lot more sense. Why show your next console when other competitors are also revealing their new goods at the same place? You want the attention all on you, and making your own personal press conference is the best way to do it. It also gives Sony the opportunity to make use of those big events like E3 or Gamescom to market the already announced product.

Do you guys also think the Feb 20 announcement is a console reveal?

UPDATE - Wall Street Journal is reporting that the PS3 successor is indeed going to be revealed on Feb 20. Not only that, it might actually be released this christmas.

Killzone: Mercenary for Vita gets a release date and a new trailer

KillzoneMercenaryVita Killzone: Mercenary, Sony's Killzone title for the PS Vita, gets a new trailer and a release date. It will launch on September 17 in North America and Europe. More details and the trailer after the break.

Killzone: Mercenary is being developed over at Guerilla Cambridge (LittleBigPlanet portable) and will be using the Killzone 3 engine.  It's set after the events of the first Killzone game and the players control mercenary and former UCA- soldier Arran Danner, who apparently is not on the Helghast or ISA side, he only thinks about his next paycheck.

The single player will contain nine missions each lasting about an hour-long. Multiplayer will be included of course and will support up to eight players (4v4) with six maps and three gameplay modes (Warzone, Team Deathmatch, Fee-For-All).

The FPS will have a currency system, where each kill and objective will reward the player money, which then can be used in the shop to buy new weapons, grenades, etc.

A Vita Killzone game was inevitable. Sadly none of the big franchises like COD or Assassin's Creed is seeing any success in the portable device, so hopefully Killzone entering the portable arena can fix that.
