The Legend of Duty

"Where is the Princess? Talk!"

Or maybe The Call of Zelda? If anyone were ever to make a Nintendo mod of a Call of Duty game, this would be the way to go.

Link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is bustin caps and takin names. Bearing the Triforce of Courage, he sets out on an epic quest to rid the world of terrorism with tried and true justice... of hot smoking lead!

But remember kids, guns are bad.

Pokemo~ I mean Crystal Monsters!... Wait, what?

Gameloft is a studio that is known for making a lot of games for mobile devices. The inspiration for most of their titles can be a bit.. questionable at times (most of the time) but they do release some quality titles.

Here we have one of their games that was released on July 10, 2010. Look Familiar?

From the Gameloft site:

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who can see monsters - called Neo-Seeds - and those who can’t. Neo-Seeds wield extraordinary power and battle using tamed monsters in grand tournaments. As a young Neo-Seed who just discovered his ability, it is time for you to set off on a fantastic adventure to become the greastest Monster Breeder. Travel across the world on a quest to uncover the secret of the Final Monsters as you capture, breed and train your own team of powerful creatures to best your opponents in dangerous monster battles.

After seeing this, I have lost all faith in Gameloft.

RGP #12 - Final 'Fantasy' Tactics

Random Gaming Post #12 Oh Delita. So this is what goes on in the head of the hero and "Savior King" of Ivalice. Imagining Princess Ovelia in many outfits of the job classes found in the game Final Fantasy Tactics. Perhaps a strange fetish for the Holy Knight but it takes all types to make the world go round I guess.

The Oregon Trail

Up until yesterday, I have never heard of this game before. After looking around youtube, I found some videos giving info and showing off the actual gameplay of it. Now the game looks very primitive by today's standards but I was intrigued at how complex the game can get. The graphics don't bother me since I have played far more simpler looking games back in the day. Aside from teaching kids about 19th century pioneer life on the Oregon Trail, the game also teaches you how to manage what limited resources you have at your disposal. I wish we had this for Math class back when I was in grade school.

From Wikipedia

The Oregon Trail is a computer game originally developed by Don Rawitsch, Bill Heinemann, and Paul Dillenberger in 1971 and produced by MECC in 1974. The original game was designed to teach school children about the realities of 19th century pioneer life on the Oregon Trail. The player assumes the role of a wagon leader guiding his party of settlers from Independence, Missouri, to Oregon's Willamette Valley over the Oregon Trail via a Conestoga wagon in 1848.
