Sega and Atlus announced that they’ll be releasing a new version of Shin Megami Tensei V for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. It’s called Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and it will be out on June 21, 2024.

As announced during Xbox’s special podcast episode covering Xbox’s business update, four games are coming to rival platforms: Grounded, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, and Sea of Thieves. All four Xbox titles will be out on rival platforms sooner than expected.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that JRPG Tales of Arise reached the three million units sold mark across digital and physical. The announcement was made just days before the game was added to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus’ Game Catalogue.

This week Crytek will start the 6th anniversary celebration of their intense online shooter Hunt: Showdown with another round of Twitch Drops, giving players a chance to win supply crates, cosmetics, and a random legendary hunter if they watch Twitch streamers play the game for a certain amount of time.

Ubisoft’s pirate naval combat game Skull and Bones is finally out in the wild through PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In case you are still on the fence about the game, anybody can try out the game for free for up to eight hours.

Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty of Xbox released an update on the Xbox business through the Official Xbox Podcast. The 22-minute long discussion tacked Xbox exclusivity, Game Pass and games from Activision, and their stand on Xbox hardware in the future.

Tekken 8 launches with a complete package for both the casual and competitive. It felt like nothing was neglected here as everything you’d wish or expect from a high-quality fighting game is added, with new additions that don’t feel like a step down, but a leap forward. I can’t see how Bandai Namco Studios and Arika could have done this any better, as Tekken 8 hit the ground running as the definitive fighting game experience.

During PlayStation’s first State of Play broadcast for 2024, Sega announced Sonic X Shadow Generations, a new package that contains 2D and 3D Sonic levels from Sonic Generations that are remastered and expanded for multiple platforms. It also comes with a new standalone Shadow campaign.

Destiny 2 was updated recently with a new collaboration set that features mass Effect-inspired cosmetics for all three of the live service game’s classes. The Mass Effect cosmetics called Normandy Crew Bundle will be available in the Eververse store on February 13. The Alliance Requisition Bundle was also added and is free to all players.

Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones is all set to launch as the company just announced that the open beta for their online naval game is happening on February 8 and will be live for players to try until February 11. Ubisoft also detailed the game’s Year 1 content coming out after the game officially launches on February 16.

HoYoverse announced that the 2.0 update for their free-to-play game Honkai: Star Rail is going live on February 6. Titled ‘If One Dreams at Midnight’, this update comes with the Penacony realm, new maps, storylines, maps, and companions.

As this will likely be the first of many entries in my review-in-progress, I can confidently say that Infinite Wealth stands out as a Yakuza game where the initial hours shine across multiple aspects. The story is captivating, the combat is enjoyable and evolves as it deepens, and the game is filled with distractions, each proving to be a blast.
