During Sony Interactive Entertainment’s first State of Play presentation for 2024, Konami revealed Silent Hill: The Short Message, a first-person survival horror game that will be released entirely for free to players on the PS5 later today.

Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Southeast Asian regions launched their Lunar New Year campaign called New Play-Year which features Korean global artist Kim Se Jeong. New promo deals for peripherals, PlayStation Plus subscription discounts, and PS5 games will be offered, though this varies depending on your region in Southeast Asia.

Destiny 2 was updated recently with a new collaboration set that features mass Effect-inspired cosmetics for all three of the live service game’s classes. The Mass Effect cosmetics called Normandy Crew Bundle will be available in the Eververse store on February 13. The Alliance Requisition Bundle was also added and is free to all players.

Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones is all set to launch as the company just announced that the open beta for their online naval game is happening on February 8 and will be live for players to try until February 11. Ubisoft also detailed the game’s Year 1 content coming out after the game officially launches on February 16.

HoYoverse announced that the 2.0 update for their free-to-play game Honkai: Star Rail is going live on February 6. Titled ‘If One Dreams at Midnight’, this update comes with the Penacony realm, new maps, storylines, maps, and companions.

As this will likely be the first of many entries in my review-in-progress, I can confidently say that Infinite Wealth stands out as a Yakuza game where the initial hours shine across multiple aspects. The story is captivating, the combat is enjoyable and evolves as it deepens, and the game is filled with distractions, each proving to be a blast.

Capcom has recently shared more details on the improved Pawn system of Dragon’s Dogma 2, a unique system of the franchise that allows players to acquire companions named Pawns that were created by other players, serving as your party members in battle.

Square Enix announced that their upcoming 4v4 online shooter Foamstars is set to launch on February 6 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game will also be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers on day one.

There’s just not enough meat to justify the use of the term “remastered” in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Visually, the improvements here are minimal, and even without it, the original The Last of Us Part 2 can still go toe-to-toe with the biggest games released today. The real highlight is No Return and the option to play at true 4K resolution as everything else feels like padding.

11 Bit Studios released our first look at gameplay for Frostpunk 2, the sequel to their post-apocalyptic city-builder that was released back in 2018. The trailer also confirmed that the RTS will be available on PC Game Pass, and later on Xbox Game Pass for the console version of the game for Xbox Series X|S.

Bandai Namco has released the opening movie for their upcoming fighting game Tekken 8 in preparation for its release on January 26, 2024. The trailer showing the opening movie also announced the game’s first post-launch DLC character Eddy Gordo in their planned Season 1 content for the game.
