And while they were amazing games, I was still looking for that modern 2.5-D transition that I expected the series to naturally evolve into.

It remains to be seen how long players will have to wait for a similar transformation for Marvel’s Avengers, and how many lapsed players will return when it does, but Marvel’s Avengers has potential. The fact that people can still feel compelled to play due to the satisfying combat and in spite of an overwhelming amount of negatives.

The GameCube cult classic is back in the form of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition and is available on the Switch, PS4, iOS, and Android with cross-play support on all platforms mentioned. But as good as this all sounds, perhaps putting the game on so many platforms was too ambitious as the game can’t seem to get one key feature right.
