It’s now the month of October. The spooky month of the year is actually packed with great games to consider if you’re looking for a new game to keep yourself busy. Among the games set for release this month, here are the big games to look out for in October.

Far Cry 6 (PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO,) - October 6

The next mainline entry in the Far Cry series. Far Cry 6 is one of the big games to start the month and it’s the same open-world first-person shooter of you overthrowing an organization from within. In this one, you’re a guerilla fighter in the fictional Caribbean island called Yara, a place controlled by a fascist dictator Antón Castillo, who is played by the talented Giancarlo Esposito.

Since this is a Ubisoft game, except its sandbox world to be filled with the usual Far Cry activities but with some fun characters and weapons like the gun that shoots CDs.

Metroid Dread (Switch) - October 8

Samus Aran is back and we are getting a Metroid game as a Metroidvania game once again. A 2D platformer set after the events of Metroid Fusion, the game features Samus facing a new threat and will be equipped with various weapons and upgrades that will most likely encourage you to backtrack and reach places you weren’t able to reach before.

Back 4 Blood ([PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO) – October 12

Developers of the original Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock Studios, is about to launch their latest take on the survivor co-op zombie game. To put it simply, it’s Left 4 Dead with additions to add more depth to the gameplay. Characters have unique perks and players can pick cards from the decks they build to alter the effectiveness of your team.

I had a blast with the beta, and you might get a kick out of this one if you’re looking for a new game to play with friends.

Age of Empires IV (PC) - October 28

We are getting a new real-time strategy game this month and it’s a new entry to a beloved franchise by Company of Heroes developer Relic Entertainment. This entry doesn’t feel like they are making any drastic changes to what made the series popular back in the day as the flow of upgrading from one age to another as you build your community and army stays the same. When the game launches, it will feature eight civilizations and 4 historical campaigns to play through as well as competitive multiplayer.

For those subscribed to Xbox Game Pass. The game will be available on the service on launch day for the PC platform.

Mario Party Superstars (Switch) - October 29

Ah, the latest Mario Party game from Nintendo. The game is played like a board game where up to 4 players compete in various mini-games to earn stars. At the end of it all, the player with the most stars wins the whole game. What’s great about this one is that it features 100 mini-games from across the series, from N64, Gamecube, and Wii eras. It’s a collection of the best mini-games and boards from the series and it’s hard to fault having a Mario Party in your collection of Switch games.
