The big games releasing in November 2021

There are just two months left in 2021 but the amount of games coming out isn’t stopping anytime soon. November is packed with highly anticipated titles, as always, and we listed the big ones to look out for this month.

Call of Duty: Vanguard (PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO) – November 5

Ah, another year, another COD. Call of Duty Vanguard is Sledgehammer Games’ next Call of Duty title that brings the community back to World War II. We’ve been here before and based on the betas I’ve played on Vanguard, there’s no drastic change in the game’s gameplay. In fact, it reminds  me of 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot thanks to the animations and even the game’s UI.

Vanguard will feature a campaign, the traditional multiplayer, and Zombies yet again but all the development for the latest Zombies will be under Treyarch, the folks behind the original Zombies game mode way back in 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War. Treyarch was also responsible for last year’s Zombies in Black Ops Cold War.

Forza Horizon 5 (PC, XSX, XBO) – November 9

The next car porn racing game you can pick up for either PC or Xbox. Playground Games keeps stepping up the visuals in this series, especially the locales where players get to race and do all the activities in this open world game set in a fictionalized Mexico.

Horizon 5 will feature eleven biomes from jungles, swamplands, to Deserts and will have dynamic weather. The racing game will have a campaign mode with some story elements added in as each race leads to you unlocking more races that involve you racing through various terrains and unfavorable weather conditions.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker expansion (PC, PS5, PS4) – November 23, November 19 (early access)

The next expansion for Square Enix’s MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online. Now considered as one of the top MMOs today, they hope to maintain their momentum with the release of Endwalker which continues the overall story that started back when A Realm Reborn was released in 2013. This expansion is said to end the main storyline of the game, making it an important release for long-time fans as many, such as myself, are eager how the team over at Square Enix plans to move forward the game forward after this expansion.

The expansion also comes with a new healer Job called the Sage and a melee Job class called the scythe wielding Reaper.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl (Switch) – November 19

To many, the release of the remake of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/ Shining Pearl is an opportunity to revisit the 2006 RPG that came out on the Nintendo DS. For some, it’s a brand new traditional Pokemon game for your Nintendo Switch.

This remake features a more modernized look with chibi-like 3D models when you roam around the world plus all of Generation IV in the Sinnoh region.

Battlefield 2042 (PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO) – November 19

The next Battlefield title is just weeks away at this point and it features games of up to 128 players on current-gen consoles and PC with previous-gen consoles only featuring up to 64-player lobbies. It’s all about the large-scale battles in Battlefield 2042 and will launch with three game modes - Battlefield Portal, All-out Warfare, and Battlefield Hazard Zone, a new game mode that isn’t a battle royale but more in the vein of games like Escape from Tarkov or Hunt:Showdown.

In Battlefield Portal, players get to set up games using weapons, vehicles, and tools from different Battlefield games. If you want a game where one team has only a knife and the other team with just defibrillators, by all means. All-out Warfare is Battlefield 2042 with the usual game modes like Conquest.

I played the open beta last month and I wasn’t too happy with the state of the game to the point that I wished DICE would delay it just a little bit longer to get things right. But at this rate, it’s unlikely going to happen.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition (PC, PS5, XSX, PS4, XBO, Switch) – November 11

Rockstar officially announced the release of a new package of GTA: San Andreas, GTA III, and Grand Theft Auto Vice City which features across-the-board graphical improvements of all three games. What’s surprising is that these improvements isn’t simply high-resolution changes as Rockstar’s work on this trilogy greatly change how each game looks for the better, making it far more appealing to modern consumers if you compare how the game originally looks.

In terms of content, nothing was changed or added in for either of the games featured in this package. Just a few minor quality of life improvements to improve the player experience overall.

This should keep you busy for the time being if you’re itching for a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.
