Sega announced that they are hosting an event called the “RGG Summit Summer 2023” airing on June 16, 2023, Friday, from 11 AM UTC+8 on their official YouTube channel. The event will focus on Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the developers of the Yakuza series, sharing new information about their upcoming titles, likely Like a Dragon 8 and Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name.

Like a Dragon 8 was officially announced during the RGG Summit livestream event. A short teaser trailer was shown, showing Yakuza: Like a Dragon protagonist Ichiban Kasuga and the original series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu walking through Kamurocho side by side.
