Scott Pilgrim EX Launch Date, New Characters Matthew Patel & Robot-01 Revealed
/Developer Tribute Games has announced that their upcoming beat ’em up arcade game, Scott Pilgrim EX, will launch on March 3 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC.
Two Playable Characters Revealed - Matthew Patel and Robot-01
The announcement also revealed Matthew Patel and Robot-01 as playable characters, bringing the roster up to seven. Here’s a quick look at each of the new additions:
Matthew Patel brings theatrical flair and mystic chaos to the battlefield. With a style that blends fire and ritualistic showmanship, Patel manipulates the flow of combat like a puppet master – using his summoned demon hipsters to distract enemies, control crowds and lay traps that can tip the scales in his team’s favor. His supernatural abilities allow him to call forth extra arms, launch flame bursts and unleash devastating finishing moves imbued with mythic power.
Robot-01, meanwhile, is all precision and punishment – rocketing across the screen with thrusters and transformations, delivering brutal blows at blistering speed. A combat unit built for mayhem, Robot-01 morphs mid-battle, fires long-range blasts and unleashes a powerful storm.
Tribute Games is on a roll. Their recent titles, Marvel Cosmic Invasion and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, hit the arcade beat ’em up sweet spot, evoking memories of 90s classics like the X-Men co-op arcade games. Scott Pilgrim EX seems no exception, as its art style meshes perfectly with the original Scott Pilgrim aesthetic.

Octopath Traveler 0 is a mixed bag, with some genuinely likeable characters and engaging story arcs, alongside others that fall flat. You then have a final act that had me banging my head against the wall. Still, its satisfying combat system, strong party synergy, and striking visual style make it an enjoyable JRPG overall.
