Monster Hunter Rise PC release: launch date, pre-load details, cross-save, and more

Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise is set to launch on the PC platform via Steam next week and we had a blast with the Switch version which launch last year. If you’re excited to play this new version of this game here’s all you need to know as we get closer to its launch.

When does the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise release?

Monster Hunter Rise on PC will launch on January 13, 2022 for PC via the Steam platform for P2,919 (~$56).  There is currently no plans for the PC version to release in other online stores.

Is it possible to pre-load Monster Hunter Rice on PC?

As of this writing, there’s no news that Monster Hunter Rise will have a pre-load option when it unlocks on January 13. The fact that we are just days away makes it unlikely that Steam will give players the option once you preorder the game. We will update this post if anything changes.

What are the preorder bonuses for Monster Hunter Rise?

Those who preorder Monster Hunter Rise will earn a Palamute Retriever Costume layered armor, a Palico Forest Cat Costume layered armor, and a Novice Talisman that’s said to assist you in the early stages of the game. Simply pick up the game before the game launches on Steam on January 12 to secure these bonuses.

What’s the difference between the PC version and the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter Rise?

The PC version of Monster Hunter Rise already proves to be a stronger version of the Switch version just by the minimal system requirements of the PC version, which you can find below.

The PC port will support resolutions up to 4K and will have ultrawide support, making you play Rise over the 16:9 screen ratio. You can also play the game with the different filter options to give a new look and style as you play the game. Filters such as “Black & White”, “Sepia”, “Japanese-style” and “Warring Lands-style” will be available. This port will also feature high-res textures, higher frame rates, and other graphical settings.

The PC version will also feature voice chat and keyboard and mouse support, giving players the option to change the key bindings for each action to any key.

What kind of content will be available in the PC port at launch?

According to a post by Capcom to the Steam Community, the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise will include all content of the Switch version up to ver.3.6.1. The plan is to sync the content between both the PC and Switch version by the end of February. This is good news as the gap between both versions will be smaller at the start compared to what was experienced when Monster Hunter World was ported to PC.

Will there be cross-play between PC and Switch players?

Sadly, Monster Hunter Rise will not feature cross-play support. Last year, the official Monster Hunter Twitter stated that both Monster Hunter Rise and the upcoming Sunbreak expansion will not have cross-play and even cross-save support on either versions at this time.

What’s the system requirements for the PC version?
