During the PlayStation Showcase Insomniac Games announced Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is happening and Peter Parker and Miles Morales are teaming up to take on Venom. Release is a long way from now as the sequel is expected to launch in 2023 exclusively for PlayStation 5.

Based on the blog post about Spider-Man 2, much of the development team that worked on Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is returning. This served as a teaser of what’s to come as you can expect new abilities, suits, and other villains giving the spidey’s a hard time.At the end of the trailer, it looks like Venom is the main villain and will be voiced by Tony Todd, best known for his work as the Candyman in the Candyman film franchise.

This is a crazy year for Insomniac Games as at the start of the PlayStation 5 launch they released Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales then released Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart last June. With the announcement of a Spider-Man 2 sequel, it looks like the studio is not stopping anytime soon and they’ll be working on two projects as Marvel’s Wolverine was announced by the studio as well during the PlayStation Showcase.
