Crystal Dynamics just released it’s latest War Table developer video detailing all the content we can expect from the Marvel’s Avengers beta happening this August.

The beta will start with players experiencing the Golden Gate demo mission, which is the world’s first look at gameplay. It’s a 25-minute long sequence thanks to all the set pieces, combat, traversal, and a taste of a boss battle against Taskmaster.

After that, the beta opens up with more content starting with a single-player mission that follows a young Kamala Khan accompanied by The Hulk as they infiltrate an AIM base in search for JARVIS. You then can take on a mission that brings the pair to uncover SHIELD secrets.

Once you’ve completed all the single-player content available in the beta the multiplayer opens up with 4 heroes available to play - Iron-Man, Kamala Khan, Black Widow, and The Hulk. You can play in HARM (Holographic Augmented Reality Machine) room challenges, a few War Zone missions, and Drop Zone missions. all of these missions at this point can be played up to 4-player co-op or even solo with AI companions.

Customization options during the beta is limited but you’ll be able to unlock new skills for each hero available and you can find and equip gear to get a taste of how progression works in Marvel’s Avengers. Players that prefer to play solo can bring their version of each hero equipped with what they’ve unlocked and equipped so far.

And just like most beta sessions, your progress will not carry over to the full game. But there’s a special nameplate you can unlock in the beta which will be available to you once the game launches.

The Marvel’s Avengers beta will start on August 7 starting with PS4 owners that have pre-ordered the game and it will run until August 9. On August 14, the beta will open up to all PS4 players and will be available until August 16.

Then, on August 21, the beta will be available once again but this time for all PS4, Xbox One, and PC players and will run until August 23.

Crystal Dynamics ended the July War table showcase with the reveal of Hawkeye, the first post-launch hero, complete with his own story mission than be played solo or with a friend or two.

Marvel’s Avengers will launch on September 4, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
