Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis to Shut Down on October 7, 2026

The free-to-play RPG Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, will shut down on October 7, 2 AM E.T / October 7, 2 PM PHT.

Players can no longer buy premium currency starting today, and the game will remain playable until this October. Refunds for unused premium currency won’t be offered to players in the Philippines as it’s currently only offered to Taiwan players.

Here’s what devs have said on the closure:

“We regret to inform you that we will be ending service for Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. PDT.

We understand that this news may be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for the abrupt nature of this announcement.

Since the launch of the App Store and Google Play versions on September 7, 2023, and the Steam version on December 6, 2023, we have worked to provide the best possible experience for our players. After careful consideration, however, we have determined that it will be difficult to continue doing so and have made the decision to end service.”

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis first launched on IoS and Android on September 7, 2023, then later released on PC via Steam on December 6, 2023. Since then, content was released on a regular basis but has failed to attract a reasonable player base.

The biggest pull for fans of the series is that this game contains a story of a young Sephiroth, giving more context to one of the franchise’s most famous villains.
