EA To Remove Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 1 & 2, and Mirror’s Edge From Digital Storefronts

EA has announced that Battlefield 1943, Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2, and Mirror’s Edge will be removed from all digital storefronts. This means that after April 28, 2023, players will no longer be able to purchase the game, and they plan to completely sunset the online features of these games later this year.
Don’t worry, if you own any of these titles you can still play the campaigns of Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2, and Mirror’s Edge. For the online modes of each game, players have until December 8, 2023, to play the game online as all online services for these titles will go offline for good at the end of the year.
This is expected as it's hard to expect companies to maintain online servers for games released at least two generations ago.

“As games are replaced with newer titles, the number of players still enjoying the games that have been live for some time dwindles to a level – typically fewer than 1% of all peak online players across all EA titles – where it’s no longer feasible to continue the behind-the-scenes work involved with keeping the online services for these games up and running.”
To be fair, these games are pretty old, some are 15 years old at this point. Battlefield 1943, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Mirror’s Edge were released back in 2008, while the sequel Bad Company 2 came out in 2010.
If you want a digital copy to preserve access to these game’s campaigns there’s still time to do so. I still consider Bad Company 2 as one of the best titles to come from the series and the campaign was a big reason why it made a lasting impression. The same goes for Mirror’s Edge as there are not many games like it that capture parkour as the main concept for gameplay.
Stellar Blade’s potential was clear, but as its ambitions expanded into something greater, it lost focus. As soon as Stellar Blade tries to bring everything together, it merges into a single figure that looks deformed and uneven. The quality is unquestionable but it wasn’t the final product I was slowly building in my head as I went through the game’s first half.
