Darkest Dungeon DLC ‘The Fire’s Edge’ Adds The Runaway, The Duelist
Developer Red Hook Studios has revealed that a new DLC for Darkest Dungeon will launch on August 18, marking the first DLC for the original game since 2020. It adds two heroes from the sequel: The Runaway and The Duelist.
Here’s how the devs describe the two heroes:
“The Runaway is a position-flexible damage dealer utilizing a unique Burn damage type with high synergy for teams that like to utilize Stuns and Pull/Knockback/Shuffle effects.”
“The Duelist is a complex damage dealer that dances between the party’s ranks, able to freely maintain Riposte while alternating between her two combat stances, Defensive and Aggressive. Proper planning of the Duelist’s future turns is key to mastering her playstyle and maximizing her potential!”
The new DLC will launch on August 18 on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The DLC will release on Xbox on a later date.
It’s great seeing the first game getting a bit of love years later as it’s still one of the best rogue-like games out there. The sequel had a different tune but just as punishing and is still worth a shot if you haven’t given it a chance.
