The Excitement for Crimson Desert is Clear
This is a big undertaking for Pearl Abyss, an ambitious open-world game from the studio behind the MMORPG Black Desert, which is still going strong to this day. Excitement for this open-world game is high as it is visually stunning, similar to their MMO, and the world looks inviting and vast. It wouldn’t be surprising if players begin comparing its scale to games like Elden Ring or even The Elder Scrolls.
The question is whether all the systems and narrative will mesh well enough to push players through what the developers claim is a main story that runs roughly 50–80 hours, depending on how you play.
Performance is going to be another major factor in its long-term success. Pearl Abyss is using its own game engine called the BlackSpace Engine, and it does look impressive in both visual fidelity and performance. The real question is whether it will remain consistent across the entire game and on all platforms, especially across the wide range of PC specifications.
Open-world games are often plagued with bugs and technical issues, but I’m rather optimistic about this game’s polish at launch. The developers announced that the game officially went gold back in January, which suggests there has been a good amount of time for polishing and fixes while marketing and distribution get ready for the March release.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a technical wonder on Nintendo Switch 2. It single-handedly raised the bar on what I thought could be possible on the system, delivering a beautifully realized, engaging, and lengthy quest in the most accessible format yet without sacrificing much on the presentation side.
