Tomb Raider's Final Hours

tombraiderFinalhours Next week, the Tomb Raider reboot comes out Tuesday. To celebrate Lara Croft's return, let's look back at the Final Hours of Tomb Raider.

Crystal Dynamics rebooting the Tomb Raider series was a good way to revive the series. When they started talking about this being an origins story, and really seeing how Lara becomes the Lara we all know is something I really want to experience. At the same time, the new direction they are taking for the reboot is fitting to create new fans of the franchise.

The Final Hours video series is a  behind the scenes look on how Tomb Raider was formed. From picking the right girl to play our iconic heroine, to the sounds that will create the tension when we start playing in March 5. This batch of videos will show all the hard work Crystal Dynamics has put into this three-year project.

Final Hours #1 - An Icon Reborn

Final Hours #2 - Origins of a Story

Final Hours #3 - The Sound of Survival

Final Hours #4 - Surviving Together

Final Hours #5 - The End of the Beginning Part 1

Final Hours #5 - The End of the Beginning Part 2

Tomb Raider is out on March 5 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

An early buyer's promo is being given by Datablitz. Early buyers of the Xbox 360 and PC version of the game will get extra exclusive content. But what about the PS3 version? Ask the Datablitz themselves, for some reason, they have not given a response to why PS3 players will be left out in the cold.

Willem Dafoe confirmed for Beyond: Two Souls, release date also announced

William Dafoe_Beyond One of my favorite actors, Academy Award-nominated actor Willem Dafoe, joins Ellen Page in Beyond: Two Souls. Together with revealing the actor's involvement, Quantic Dream also announces a release date for  David Cage's next story-driven title. We all get to experience Jodie's story on October 8th exclusively on the PS3.

Dafoe star as Nathan Dawkins, a government scientist that works with Jodie(Ellen Page) to understand her supernatural powers.

A behind the scene YouTube video(below) was also released with an interview with Willem Dafoe, talking about his experience with the project. The footage also shows that Nathan and Jodie develop a strong relationship.

I'm quite eager to play this game. Not because of what was shown so far since it's reveal, but because of my experience with Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain made me believe that there's still room to grow in the story aspect of game development.I thought I'd never play another David Cage game on the PS3, but I guess I was wrong.

Metro: Last Light release date confirmed

Metro Last Light-ss01 Metro: Last Light now has a release date. We get to wander through the Metro once again as Atryom on May 14 for NA, and May 17 for the rest of the world. The game will be out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Thanks to THQ going under, many franchises including Metro: Last Light was left homeless. But during the THQ Auction Sale, Publisher Deep Silver(Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide) picked up the Metro franchise keeping it alive.

A tweet from the game's official Twitter also adds that the extra time gives 4A Games more time to really polish the Last Light. By all means, take all the time you need. I'm just grateful that the franchise and 4A Games has a new home to make business continue as usual.

I had a great time with the first Metro game. I wanted more out of the post-apocalyptic survival shooter when I finished it, so I can't wait to wander around the Metro once again.

Just in case you are curious on the gameplay, take a look at this 12 minute demo below.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag confirmed

assassblackflag0228-610b Rumors have been circling the net for a few weeks now on the next Assassin's Creed. Instead of controlling the leaked info, Ubisoft decided to just officially announce it - The next Assassin's Creed is Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.

It's a bit odd that they are quickly moving on to the fourth with just a year gap with the third. Not much information is given so far, all we get is confirmation and the box art suggesting a new assassin character, pirate themed, and the setting to be in the Caribbean? The box art for the PS3 also confirms exclusive 60 minutes of extra content, similar to before.

In Assassin's Creed 3, it featured amazing naval battles, and it looks like we'll be getting more of that in the next game.  Ubisoft does promise more information about the game next week,

Is it too soon? Is the publisher squeezing whatever's left in this franchise? With the industry slowly entering the next generation, I'm surprised Ubisoft is still pushing a yearly release for Assassin's Creed. I won't say more until we get more info, but I do wish they tone it down a bit before the series just dies out from constant use.

You can see the box art of each platform below
