Fallout: New Vegas has three DLC on the way

Bethesda has revealed three downloadable content for New Vegas, Honest HeartsOld World Blues, and Lonesome Road. The release of the first one is actually close by, Honest Hearts is first up and will be out on May 17.

This makes Fallout: New Vegas having a total of 4 DLC's. Blood Money was the first downloadable content released on December 21, 2010 on the Xbox 360 first. A few months later on February 22, 2011, it was released for PC and PS3 owners. Xbox 360 had that exclusive early release but for the next three DLC, they will all be released simultaneously just like the old days.

Available on May 17, Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah's Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.

In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.

Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier's story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.

It will cost us around 800 Microsoft points or $9.99 for each pack of downloadable content. That's $30 worth of new content and I'm tempted to get the first DLC in preparation for the next batch. Looks like I'll be revisiting New Vegas soon. Anybody excited??

Motivation

I'm saving up for a PS3 but I don't have a lot of time to play games nor do I have an HDTV to fully appreciate the beauty of todays graphic power houses. Money doesn't grow on trees you know. From the awesome Borderlands song 'Ain't no rest for the wicked', "I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed, ain't nothing in this world for free". So you can tell I'm in a bit of a slump. Will getting a PS3 be really worth it? I know you might say "PS3 is stoopid! PSN is down! Go 360!" but thats not really the argument here.

I've been craving for a PS3 for a long time now but I only started saving for one around March and as time goes on, my hype for it decreases day by day. You may ask "Why the slump where there are so many awesome games out right now", I know all those awesome games are out there but its just that feeling when you're just not in the mood.

I'm just ranting now but the real reason I'm writing this is because I was reminded about a game that I've had my eye on even before its North American release. Instead of just telling you, I'll just show you.

Thank you Shinji Mikami. Thank you Hideki Kamiya. And thank you Platinum Games. You sure know how to motivate a guy. :D

Catherine gets a US release date plus reveals a deluxe edition

Gamers who are actually waiting for the US release of the game, good news. The game will be released on July 26 and you can pre-order the "Love is Over" Deluxe Edition. I've never seen a Deluxe Edition like this before and it's really for those BIG Catherine fans i guess.

The Deluxe Edition has a lot of 'interesting' goodies, like a collectible pizza box from "Stray Sheep Bar', a pair of polka dot "Vincent" boxers!?(WTF), a pillow case decorated with a very uh satisfying image of Catherine, and Vincent's empty heart T-shirt.

This has to be the weirdest Deluxe Edition I've ever heard but hey if your excited about whats inside good for you.

If you want more goodies go pre-order the standard or deluxe edition from any retailers and you'll receive a 36 page art book, and a bonus CD containing the game's soundtrack.

Sony gives compensation with free 1 month PSN+ for all users

This week must be Sony's worst week in their history, and they know that. They also know all of you are frustrated and you probably hate them right now, so their trying to win you back with a free 1 month PSN+ subscription to all users. The Playstation blog was updated with this information but I wonder if this is enough?

They are calling it the "Welcome Back" program. it's the company’s way of appreciating your patience, support and continued loyalty. I'm sure some of you jumped shipped since personal information including credit card info was taken and it's understandable. I'm still wondering if this is enough to win our 'trust' back.

Central components of the “Welcome Back” program will include:

  • Each territory will be offering selected PlayStation entertainment content for free download. Specific details of this content will be announced in each region soon.
  • All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service. Current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.
  • Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.

The content provided will be announce soon for each region so we'll see if it's actually worth it. But there's one feature that I'll abuse right away when this program goes live and that's the cloud save feature making you back up all your game saves into the psn. I just hope the hackers won't hack through that too.

Sony also mentioned that Some Playstation Network and Qriocity Services will be available this week. They have improved their security and will slowly turn on features of the PSN.

SNEI and its third-party experts have conducted extensive tests to verify the security strength of the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. With these measures in place, SCE and SNEI plan to start a phased rollout by region of the services shortly. The initial phase of the rollout will include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Restoration of Online game-play across the PlayStation®3 (PS3) and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) systems -This includes titles requiring online verification and downloaded games
  • Access to Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3/PSP for existing subscribers
  • Access to account management and password reset
  • Access to download un-expired Movie Rentals on PS3, PSP and MediaGo
  • PlayStation®Home
  • Friends List
  • Chat Functionality

Weekend, what are you playing?

We enter into the month of May and with the PlayStation Network still down, meaning that all PS3 owners have no online fun for 2 weekends now. Still, people nowadays usually have more than one means of playing a video game here or there. So, what are you playing this weekend?

Migoy: Still fighting the good fight in Dissidia 012 Duodecim: Final Fantasy. 50+ hours in and halfway through Scenario 000. Grinding with other characters on Quick Party battles on the side. I have a few PSX titles on my PSP which I got before the great PSN crash of 2011. Also found a few older PSX titles such as the 3 Road Rash games and Harry Potter 1. A bit of nostalgia gaming. I also found a GameCube memory card at Datablitz which I bought in a heartbeat and tested it by revisiting Mortal Kombat Deception, that game controls like butt.

Quash: Finally sat down and finished Crysis 2 yesterday. It was a great game overall and i'm thinking of making a review about it. Since Crysis 2 is out of the way i think i'll continue with Portal 2, i just started and hoping to finish this too by today. It was said to be arund 6-8 hours long but of course it all depends if i fail in some of the test chambers.

Arlie: Still playing Patapon 3, I am using Yumiyacha (Ranged type) as my primary Uberhero class and switched it to Wondabarappa who shoots crap out of a magical tuba. I might finally start on Dissidia 012 Duodecim: Final Fantasy this week. I will also play and hopefully finish today the fourth episode of Back To The Future: The Game which is entitled "Double Visions".
