Bandai Meister Xenosaga Legend EP2 KOS-MOS Ver. 2 Figure

Bandai Meister KOS-MOS Tagcom happened this weekend and as a toy collector, I felt obligated to go. A few other things I needed to do at SM Megamall made it easier for me to justify attending the convention.

As I was scowering through the lanes and shops looking for things that would interest me, I came across this box of random gashapon items in little plastic baggies. Usually, these boxes of goodies had a specific theme to them like random Kamen Riders or Gundams or Marvel toys. But this box was a little different. It had a bunch of gashapons from a bunch of different animes. From Gundams, One Piece, bikini anime girls to even Star Wars. Me and two of my friends literally went through each and every piece that was in this box. In the end I only bought two things from this box, a figure of Luna Maria from Gundam SEED Destiny, and this KOS-MOS figure.

Bandai Meister KOS-MOS

Going through ebay, apparently this figure is from a line called Bandai Meister Xenosaga Legend EP2 and is this one of what I think are five figures from that series. KOS-MOS is sporting her version 2 look from Xenosage Episode II. With clear light blie parts for her shoulders, stomach and half of her upper thighs. Thank god she has better hair, resembling that of her ver. 4 look. She also comes with a display stand that has pegs that plug into her feet as well as an arm with a clip that plugs into the base to help support the figure but KOS-MOS stands well enough even without the clip. The figure also stands at about 4 inches tall.

Much fun is to be had with clear parts.

For 100php it's a very nice figure that's a decent size and looks great depite being in a box probably tossed around while others rummaged through the box. I bought a bunch of other crap at Tagcom but KOS-MOS was the only thing gaming related that I could get my hands on.

Mega Man Star Force Battle DX Action Figure

http://2muchgaming.com/ Dug out one of my old action figures as I was going through some stuff. Did a google search of the name and apparently it's called the Mega Man Star Force Battle DX Action Figure by Takara Tomy.

Otherwise known as Ryuusei no Rockman in Japan, it was my least favorite of the current existing Mega Man / Rockman series. But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate a good action figure of the Blue Bomber. Unfortunately it's missing a few points of articulation that would make it a great toy.

http://2muchgaming.com/

The limited shoulder articulation is a shame. The range does not widen even when the shoulder armor is removed. Bicep cuts or an elbow twist would have helped make up for it but alas, those too are missing. No waist or torso joint is painful for those looking for dynamic poses and the lack of thigh cuts irks me even more given how limited the hip joints are.

While not great for collectors, this figure has pretty decent play value that you don't really see in toys nowadays. The buster arm that's made up of Warrock's / Omega-Xis' face has a spring in that allows you to shoot one of the three bullets that it comes with. What's a missile launcher without targets to shoot? Well the back card of this figure comes with three cutouts of viruses that you find in the game as well as mini figure of the sword virus included as one of the accessories. The last bit of accessory is a sword arm that you can plug into Mega Man's left arm. You simply pull out the buster and the sword plugs right into the peg.

We don't get enough good Mega Man figures and the ones we did get outside of Japan are few and far between. I wish we got more Battle Network toys instead.

Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge

castlevania 2 belmonts revenge full I remember wishing on a wish bone to have a Gameboy. That sort of happened because my older brother gave me his old one, and with it a few games. One of which was Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge.

A portable Castlevania that plays like the original games with it's slower and more precise pace and characters that don't know how to run. I reached Dracula when I played this as a kid but never beat him. To reminisce on the old days, I decided to play it again and captured my hour or so of gameplay. Here are the highlights from that playthrough.

Kontrol Freek - Rcade Freek for PS3 and Xbox 360

Rcade-Freek-01.jpg

instafreek Datablitz just got a wave of products from KontrolFreek. I'm a sucker for gaming accessories and have been looking for these in local shops for quite some time now.

I personally find the analog sticks on the PS3's dual-shock 3 controller a tad on the short side and while I don't have the most precise aim in shooters, better leverage on your thumb sticks is never a bad thing. I could have gone for the more regular grips like the classic or the FPS Freek but ever since I found out about the Rcade Freek back in like 2011, those piqued my interest the most.

http://2muchgaming.com/

They grip on the analog sticks quite well and don't get knocked off easily unless your really force it. The smooth rounded plastic surface of the Rcade Freek keeps true to the style of cherry top arcade sticks and while they may not provide the best grip to your thumb, the increase in height definitely adds leverage and could in turn provide more presicion in your gaming.

I don't really use the analog sticks for fighting games except for maybe Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 but I chose the Rcade Freek for the throwback to old arcade machines. Datablitz had them in two colors, Throwback Black and Retro Red and priced at 495php a pair which ain't bad. I might go back and get me one of those FPS Freek ones next time.
