Weekend, what are you playing?

I'm comin in Already half-way through March and nearing the 4th month of the year. Time flies when you're playing video games. What are you playing?

Migoy: After being sick for a week, I haven't really sat down and played anything for what seems like forever. It seems like the sick is out of my system now and I spent my Saturday afternoon over at TupaSheep's house. We played Street Fighter x Tekken as a team in two runs through arcade mode. After that we took the battle online and trolled a few players with some Hugo and Mega Man antics, it was hilarious. I gotta say, the netcode for Street Fighter x Tekken seemed very good. It has the rollback like code similar to GGPO where some moves would seem like they hit but would then "rollback" and actually show that it didn't. Had an Akuma that was warping around on screen like a laggy monster but that's ok. Playing online was good fun. Afterwards, we did a few matches in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 since TupaSheep bought all the DLC costumes that Capcom released and oh man, I gotta get me dem costumes.

Quash: Star Wars: The Old Republic is having a weekend pass this weekend so I'm going try the game out again for the heck of it. I'm a sucker for free trials and when one shows up, I won't hesitate to give it a try. Aside from that I was able to get my hands on Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken. While I was not thrilled with the whole gem system and the added Pandora move, the whole game itself is actually fun. My team is going to be Chun Li/ Jin, why? because those characters are actually my main in SF and Tekken and they actually work well together.

Recent Buys: Episode 3 - The n00bt00b Cross Over

dem thighs What's up guys, sorry I haven't been posting as much, been sick all week. To the point that I haven't gotten any real game time down (Only 6 minutes of GTA4? C'mon!). But before all this bad juju happened to my body I was able to pick up a copy of Street Fighter x Tekken on day 1 of it's release, this was also my first ever day 1 game purchase.

Street Fighter x Tekken is a fantastic game and I am loving every second of it so far. I find the Tekken characters more fun to use since they don't feel like Street Fighter characters nor do they feel like their original Tekken counterparts. My favorites so far are Asuka, King and Marduke.

I've also started a new series that I'm trying out called "The n00bt00b". What happens is when ever I get a hold of a game or try out one of the game modes, features, characters, vehicles, and the like that I have had no proper exposure to prior to the recording of the video. I will capture footage of it and clip together what I think are the highlights and mash them together. Street Fighter x Tekken was the first victim and my cousin was able to join me on my n00by adventure into this brand new fighting game from Capcom.

I've made The n00bt00b a playlist on our youtube channel so it'll be easy to find. Here is the "first episode".

Weekend, what are you playing?

Mass Effect 3It's that time during the week when you can kick back, relax, and reduce the number of games you have not finished. Mass Effect 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken came out this week so I bet people are either taking back Earth or finding that team that best suits you. What are you playing?

Quash: This week has been Mass Effect 3 for me, and thanks to this game, I have been going to sleep at 3am since I got it. I got the game on Wednesday and have been playing it non-stop. All my free time was taken by Mass Effect 3. Hitting the 38th hour mark, I witnessed one of the greatest video game trilogy  of this generation come to an end this morning. Don't worry, I won't spoil this epic. But yes, I just finished it and it was just an amazing game. I won't say more but I'll say this, If it's your first time playing Mass Effect 3, I highly suggest going through 1 and 2 before 3. You will appreciate it much more that way.

Weekend, what are you playing?

The Final Round tournament is happening this weekend with the conclusion to Capcom's reality show Cross Assault and a bunch of other fighting games taking place. Got some awesome games coming up in just a few days too. So much hype. But for the moment, what are you playing?

Migoy: Been playing a lot more Soul Calibur V and finally learned how to do a few combos with some characters. The character creation mode is a blast and really well done for a fighting game. I tend to use my created characters more than the actual characters for the most part now. Played a bit of Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the PS Vita, Sony's new handheld console. A bit sad that the game doesn't run on 60fps (my expectations for the Vita are very high) but it still looks very impressive considering it's on a handheld system, it looks even better than the first Uncharted which was on the PS3. The Vita is a nice sleek system which is very impressive considering it just launched not too long ago.

Quash: Mass Effect 3 is two days away for us so I'm all hyped to take back earth on Tuesday. Currently playing Mass Effect 2 again on Insanity to earn the Platinum trophy. It's not entirely that punishing, you just have to play a bit more safe. I'm playing as an engineer which is making it a bit easier since the combat drone gives me enough time to recover my shields.

Monthly Gametime Roundup - February

ivy boobs Another month, another gametime roundup. Two months in the new year and luckily I'm still keeping up with counting my gametime.

It's become a habit for me to start up the timer on my cellphone every time I decide to play a game. There still have been some moments when i forget to start it up or turn it off right as I start the game or just when I end it but only for a few minutes so it isn't so bad. Sometimes I panic when I want to play a game but can't find my phone to start the timer with. You can view the list on Google Docs.

For this month I haven't been playing as often as I did in January and even missed a few days. Clocking in at about half the total time compared to last month, I can't really blame it on February not having as many days as January, we even got an extra day since 2012 is a leap year.

Here's the list of games I've played during the month of February and on what platform I played them on.

PS3: Grand Theft Auto IV Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Soul Calibur V Twisted Metal (Demo) Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations (Demo) SSX (Demo)

PSP: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max Super Stardust Portable Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X

Wii: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Rhythm Heaven Fever

DS: Kirby: Mass Attack Mega Man Zero Collection Tetris DS

GBA: Mega Man: Battle Chip Challenge

NES: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters Balloon Fight Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

iPod Touch: Fruit Ninja Lite

iPad 2: Fruit Ninja Lite HD

PC: Tetris Battle (Facebook) Super Crate Box SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Online Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer

Tetris Battle on Facebook still took a lot of my gametime but toned down near the end of the month. The multiplayer aspect of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was free on Steam for a weekend after which you could buy if you choose to do so, I didn't. I deleted that game when the free period expired, it's honestly not my kind of thing. Went a bit retro at some point and revisited a few old GBA and NES games to tickle my nostalgia bone. I did miss a few days near the end of the month which surprised me. I never imagined that I'd have a day without playing at least one video game since video games are very accessible now with mobile games and a plethora of portable systems. As for the iPod Touch and iPad 2 entries, I just borrowed them and tried out Fruit Ninja. Yes, I even timed those and no, I do not own an iPad 2 or an iPod Touch.

My total gametime for the month of February - 66:28:48
