Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the 2024 PlayStation Days of Play celebration with discounts on select PlayStation products as the PlayStation 5 console, peripherals, and PS5 games go on sale starting May 29 until June 12, 2024, in participating retail shops in the Philippines.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Shift Up revealed that their action adventure game Stellar Blade is getting a free ‘Boss Challenge’ update on May 24. This update adds the Boss Challenge game mode that allows players to go against 19 of the base game’s boss encounters, a place to challenge players to defeat these bosses in a short amount of time.

Inflexion Games updated their survival crafting game Nightingale with Update 0.3, which includes offline mode, one of the most highly requested features from their community ever since the game’s early access went live. The update also includes new content such as new Bound Enemies, dynamic tiered creatures, new Questlines, and even features such as the ability to build off of resources in nearby storages.

Crytek has revealed that the long-awaited visual upgrade to their online shooter Hunt: Showdown will launch on August 15, 2024. This is a major update that not only comes with a visual upgrade of the game engine to CryEngine version 5.11, but a new map, new improvements to the game’s UI/UX design, and a new event.

Hellblade 2 feels like a living, breathing shapeshifter, manipulating its surroundings around the player with precision and consistency, making it one of the most visually stunning video games of this generation. This is an amazing title that carefully balances its artistic and gaming ambitions, a masterpiece that I encourage any gamer to experience.

Little Kitty, Big City has appropriately-sized ambitions, as it manages to be both grounded and lofty, keeping the player’s eyes scanning the city for open windows, holes in fences, nooks and crannies in which to hide, and vent pipes to climb. Exploration and character interactions are a joy, and I look forward to Double Dagger Studios’ next creation.

It’s easy to describe Animal Well as a puzzle-focused Metroidvania eschewing traditional combat, where nearly every room is a puzzle room, but that falls so far short of describing just what this game is and how expertly it defies genre and classification that it feels like a disservice. Animal Well is a paragon of the art form, a game that simply must be experienced.

Ubisoft announced that they had canceled the upcoming free-to-play online shooter The Division Heartland in their latest financial report. Instead of further developing the game, the company has decided to allocate resources to its other free-to-play title XDefiant that’s releasing in a few weeks, and Rainbow Six.

Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that 13 games will enter PlayStation Plus’ Game and Classics Catalog for May 2024.

Ubisoft has revealed the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and it’s called Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a mainline entry set in Feudal Japan with two protagonists — a towering Samurai called Yasuke, and a ninja Naoe. Pre-orders and editions was also revealed for the game.
