XDefiant, developed by the Ubisoft San Francisco team, is officially shutting down as the free-to-play FPS will only have its servers open until June 2025. It was also reported that two Ubisoft studios are shutting down, effectively laying off up to 177 employees, with the rest being moved to other projects.

Ubisoft has launched Season 2 of XDefiant, featuring the new Highwaymen faction, three new maps, and the addition of Bomb mode. Players can also expect the arrival of private matches, new weapons, and in-game events.

Ubisoft has announced that their free-to-play online first-person shooter XDefiant is launching on May 21, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game starts with a preseason that will last for 6 weeks.

Ubisoft announced a free-to-play FPS shooter called Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, a game that pits well known factions within the Tom Clancy universe against each other in a 6v6 arena, with characters equipped with unique abilities. The first test session is expected to begin on August 5.
