2K Games and developer Hangar 13 revealed that the next entry in the Mafia series, Mafia: The Old Country, will launch on August 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S. and PC through Steam. We have details on the different editions, a new gameplay trailer, and further confirmation that this entry is more of a linear story-driven crime drama than an open world game like previous titles.

The release date for Mafia: The Old Country may have been accidentally leaked in a Steam blog post ahead of the PAX livestream. It's the first time the upcoming title has received a solid date.

2K said staff reductions at Hangar 13 ensure that "resources are properly aligned with its long-term development plans, and will not influence our ability to create and deliver products currently in development."
