Here’s the First Look at the Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake Running in Unreal Engine 5
During the Xbox Preview Partner livestream this October 2023, Konami revealed our first look at the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater that was released back in 2004.
The video is rather short but gives us a good look at what a modern Metal Gear Solid game would look like, especially if Konami decides to recreate earlier titles such as the original Metal Gear Solid game.
Snake Eater has a more lush setting than the rest of the older series as Naked Snake (Big Boss) infiltrates through the jungle using camouflage by blending in with the environment by covering himself in mud or using the right outfit to blend with the right foliage.
Snake Eater is also a prequel as it’s set in the 1960s and follows the story of Naked Snake tasked to solely rescue a Russian scientist Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov.
Revealed back in May during a PlayStation Showcase livestream, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be the latest major entry from the series as the last entry was Metal Gear Survive a spin-off title released in 2018 and also the first title that doesn’t involve series creator Hideo Kojima as he left Konami soon after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There’s currently no released date for the remake.
Code Vein 2 delivers serviceable soulslike combat and flexible builds, but its bloated systems, uninspired open world, and inconsistent performance keep it from standing out in an already crowded genre. It definitely has ambition, but many of its ideas feel more like background noise than meaningful twists, leaving the sequel competent but ultimately forgettable.
