Control Resonant Has Gone Gold, Physical Release Delayed to October
Developer Remedy Entertainment has announced that its upcoming action sci-fi game Control Resonant has officially gone gold, meaning the game has reached a shippable state, completing major development. Unfortunately, the physical release of the game has been delayed to October 15, 2026. Players can still pick up and play the game digitally on September 24, 2026.
The developer simply needs more time to deliver physical copies. No other details about the delay were given, but it does give players something to think about: Play Control Resonant digitally on September 24, during an already packed month with Marvel’s Wolverine, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Dune: Awakening, Silent Hill: Townfall, and more, or wait for the physical copy dropping on October 15, which is arguably an even more packed month.
This will be Remedy’s first major release since Alan Wake 2. The studio did release its multiplayer co-op first-person shooter FBC: Firebreak in June 2025, but despite being set in the same universe as its previous games, and it being a decent co-op offering, it failed to capture a sizeable player base. Remedy hasn’t shut down the shooter, but the developers did confirm that its Open House update would be the game’s final Major update.
Control Resonant is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, GeForce NOW, and PC.
