Xbox One has sold over one million units in the first 24 hours

Xbox One Launch_First Consoles The next generation of console gaming is now officially in full swing with the release of the Xbox One. How did it do on its first day? Oh, just one million in the first 24 hours.

The day one sale was announced by Microsoft just recently. The Xbox One was launched in 13 markets: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Microsoft is also reporting this to be the biggest Xbox launch in history.

With the PS4 also hitting the one million mark, this shows that the gaming industry is growing bigger and bigger despite it's short-comings as a whole.

Microsoft also shared a few stats on their exclusive titles:

  • Over 60 million zombies have been killed in “Dead Rising 3”
  • Over 3.6 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5"
  • Over 7.1 million combos in “Killer Instinct”
  • Over 8.5 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome”

The Walking Dead: 400 Days Playthrough

thewalkingdead 400 days As I said in my most recent episode of Recent Buys, I bought a $20 PSN card and used it to buy The Walking Dead: 400 Days for what I think was $3.50.

I played it and even though it was really short I liked it. Jiks also played through the first season of The Walking Dead game so I had him do an LP of 400 Days while we wait for season 2.

The Last Door - Free To Play Low-Res Horror Game

The-Last-Door Halloween may be over but that doesn't mean you can't play a horror game here and there. The Last Door is an episodic horror point and click adventure game that's free to play on thelastdoor.com.

It's a sort of Lovecraftian style of horror, which I like, and doesn't really rely on jump scares. As of this post, chapter 1 and 2 are free to play on their site. Chapter 3 is also currently available but will be free to play on January 2014. If you want to play chapter 3 early, you can donate a bit of money to the developers at http://thelastdoor.com/index.php/donate. They also have a few incentives if you donate certain amounts. The Last Door is also trying to get on Steam Greenlight.

We did a short Let's Play of the chapters 1 and 2 that are currently free. Check them out. If you like how it looks, I recommend you try the game out for yourself.
