11 Bit Studios Reveal Post Content Plans For Moonlighter

11 Bit Studio and Digital Sun's Moonlighter is doing pretty well with critics and their fans, so well that they plan to support the game with a series of major updates to be released at the end of this year.

There will be four major updates planned for the game and it will be free content for all. Based on the road map, these updates are more to enhance the initial experience of the game. The randomly generated dungeon crawling system will have new rooms for all four dungeons to add more variety, and we get a few customization options for your shop. There's also a New Game+ to those looking to continue playing once they've finished the game. You also get a companion to aid you in fights.

11 Bit Studios also hinted at more announcements planned in 2018. They also intend to support the game with more updates for Moonlighter in 2019.

The four major updates

  • More Stock Update — Our first update will add more than 50 new room istributed all over the four dungeon making a total of almost 600 room patterns availabl! It’s also going to improve the look of armors and enchanted items, plus we plan to add some additional help/tutorials to explain different shop upgrades better.

  • Adventure Update — New Game+ lets players start the whole game again with increased difficulty level. This update will also bring brand ne Dimensional Weapons and Amulet, powerful equipment based on an unknown and mysterious technology.

  • Companion Update — Feeling lonely in the Dungeons? Worry no more! hoose a companion and bring it with you on the adventur ! ach companion will be a little bit different, offering various skill sets and looks. On top of that we’re going to introduc the Custom Gam — a set of options that will allow you to to modify certain game parameters to create diverse experiences.

  • Trouble Update — Put your skills to the test by battling some brand new mini bosses! We’re not going to tell you anything more about them — because we want those enemies to surprise (and brutally defeat... muah ha ha ha) you during your adventures. Yup, we're sadistic like that sometimes. We're also going to add ne Item Effects, boosting the game’s variety. This update should arrive sometime around Halloween — so we’re hoping to bring you some spoOOoky stuff, too!

I enjoyed my time with Moonlighter, the top-down adventure game that has you running a shop during the day, and explore dungeons for treasures to sell in your shop at night. You can read my full review of Moonlighter as to why this little gem was such a treat to play.

Moonlighter is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is planned for release but so far no release date was given.
