The Weekend Playlist: The Revenant Kingdom of Telltale’s Mafia

There's a lot coming up on our plate soon here at Too Much Gaming. We're hoping to expand our coverage of new games like A Way Out, Far Cry 5, God of War, Battletech and a whole lot more. We can't make any promises, but we're definitely psyched for what the future has in store. In the meantime, Carlos is taking a break while I try to go full speed into a review.

Drop us a line or two in the comments and let me know what you're playing!

This weekend I want to relax, and that means avoiding anything that requires me to be competitive online. Such games tend to bring out a lot of pressure and frustration, even my recent go-to Rainbow Six: Siege, which I’ve been playing constantly since the start of the year.

That’s why I’m going to games that are narrative-driven this weekend. I’ll be taking a dive into my backlog of Telltale games on my PS4, specifically Batman: The Telltale Series and Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series.

I’m making a second attempt at finishing Mafia III this weekend. I picked it up to support diversity in the form of more non-white video game protagonists in big blockbusters games, but the lengthy quest chain of the main campaign kept me from finishing it. I’ll likely dial the game down to easy, kick back and relax and murder everyone to the sounds of The Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

That aside, Carlos has been doing most of our reviews lately, so it’s time for me to take one for the team. After all, if I have time to do a completionist run of Rise of the Tomb Raider, then I should have time to play a JRPG like Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom. Check back for a review soon from yours truly.
