Gamescom 2017 is underway and Microsoft has dropped a big announcement: Age of Empires IV is coming and it will be on Windows 10.
It is being developed by Relic Entertainment, developers of RTS series Company of Heroes and Dawn of War. A fitting developer to work on bringing back a beloved RTS franchise.
"We can’t wait to tap into our strengths as a studio to fuse historical context with deep strategic gameplay, and to bring this franchise back to the forefront of gaming and into the hands of its beloved community." says Relic Entertainment in a post about the announcement.
There's not much information just yet but based on the announcement trailer the factions seen were Native Americans, British Redcoats, Roman legionnaires, Japanese samurai, and more.
No release date was given for Age of Empires IV. It's coming to Windows 10 but it is not confirmed just yet if the game will be available on other platforms such as Steam.
