Destiny 2 Gets A Free Trial Version

If you were interested in Destiny 2 but still haven't pulled the trigger on picking it up, Activision has good news for you. A "free trial" was announced that will give players a taste of both the PvE and PvP components of the recently released "shared world shooter."

The trial launches on November 28 -- which is likely tomorrow for those of us in the Philippines living east of the Greenwich time zone -- and will be available on all platforms. That includes the PS4 and Xbox One, which saw Destiny 2 arrive this September and the PC, which launched late last month.

Story content for the first two planets -- Earth's European Dead Zone and Saturn's moon, Titan -- will be available for play, as well as the pre-endgame social space known as The Farm. This includes not just the campaign missions but the Adventures side quest content on both locations.

The demo also grants access to the Crucible, but only to the Quickplay playlist. Demo players can join a Clan, earn Clan XP, and join up with other players for cooperative action. Demo players will also be capped at level 7, which means Raids and Nightfall won't be on offer to try. However, any progress you make will carry over should you decide to pick up the full release.

In our review I wrote, "Bungie’s greatest triumph in Destiny 2 is that it has transformed the polarizing, alienating experience of the first Destiny into an infinitely more rewarding one."
